Reasons to be cheerful 3

6th August

Saw a programme on tv tonight about fasting and how it can help you lose weight if you eat what you want for 5 days and eat only 600 calories on 2 days:

That means 11.13 tonight until 11.13 tomorrow on 600 calories!

OK let's do it

11.17 - big glass of water

Ok I'll start at 12. Need cakey thing!

11.49 - and the last glass of wine

7th August - 12.45 - working from home, had 200 calories so far with 12 hours to go. Had a small slice of fruit loaf and a scraping of butter and half a can of vegetable soup! Hungry!

15.40 - Just had another slice of fruit loaf. Yummy scrumptious. Don;t know how easy this will be at work, need to think salad and leaf.

10th and 11th August - ate what I want, great stuff as it is my wedding anniversary and we have blown out at Tonic on Nottingham!

13th - second fast day and I'm at work. Not easy but had stir fry on the evening. lost 3lb so far!

Reasons to be cheerful 2

Reasons to be cheerful 2

6th August 2012

The sun was beautiful tonight through the windows at the back of the house. Fed the fish then went upstairs and just drank it in. The bamboo in Clare’s pot looked fabulous, the rays slanting down.

Didn’t want to get up this morning but managed to slough off the idea of a duvet day and made it in. Picked up my prescription at Boots first thing. Queued outside with a few others for it to open, then got to work.

I had made a list on Saturday for things to do in the garden, starting by the dining room window. 10 things on the list which I sorted out into those things that Brian and Julie will do, (some of which only if I ask them nicely and with notice). Like cleaning the soffits. The other 5 things were for me to do, and as I went out with my wet sponge to clean the kitchen window I realised two things. Firstly that I could open the window and clean the inside from the outside, which would mean I can clean the top window inside from outside, the main difference other than the Okey Cokey being that the washing machine is not in the way when done from the outside. Secondly that as the window cleaners clean the outside of the windows I don’t need to clean the other kitchen window and I can cross the dining room window off my list too. Suddenly I can tick a bogoff! No shake it all about! Bonus.

Brian and Julie come on Wednesday after their holiday. Happy days.

4th August 2012

Had a lie in this morning, and I didn’t get dressed till 6pm!

The weather was lovely when I got up and one of the first jobs I did today was to water the garden. Something has eaten Charlie Dimmock. I bought 4 dark purple salvia, called Charlie Dimmock, from Reuben Shaw a couple of weeks ago when I was planting up the apple tree bed, and the one closest to the hedge has been completely munched, and the others aren’t faring much better either.

Glorious day for pottering. My back hasn’t been too bad today so I sorted out the area near the microwave – the amount of cat hair and a couple of dead spiders – dreadful! Took a load of pictures of the garden, I really love it at the moment, the hard work that Brian and Julie are putting in is really paying off and it’s a pleasure to sit feeding the fish and feeling the sun on your shoulders.

Later on it’s rained, so I had to put the mats from the bedroom, which I washed, on the radiator – yes, we have the heating on and it’s August.

Jessica Ennis has just won the Gold Medal in the Heptathlon at the London Olympics. Mo Farah is about to race. And I’ve just found a cold bottle of cider in the fridge that I didn’t know was there. Bonus.

hands and knees

I'll write something in a minute

Reasons to be cheerful

My feet are warm. I know it’s August, but it has been so fucking miserable so far this summer that that in itself is quite unusual. I have tracky bottoms on mind you, and t shirt nightie and hoody top, but even so this summer the fact that I’m wearing all that but no socks and still my feet are warm is something in itself.

It’s also Friday night which is a bonus. No work tomorrow, bottle of wine and a lie in.

I’ve done some dead heading – the trailing troughs and the clematis. Fingers got all sticky and stained red and blue. I’ve fed the troughs too, it really pays off.

Rachel’s Dad has had his operation and is hallucinating on tramadol

“Dad had a tramadol last nite and has been hallucinating all nite and most of the day!! Talking about purple tree’s and a man’s head on his table. Not supposed to be funny but I found it amusing lol!”

No Harry potter then lol?” – My mum had a heart by pass 6 months ago and had me nearly convinced that JK Rowling or an acolyte had been doing Harry Potter readings in the ward day room.

“No just clouds with claws coming to get him lol!”

“Bless”.

Oven’s on for goat’s cheese on garlic pizza bread.
